Posted January 7, 200817 yr First PAIR we have GOLIATH ( Grandfather to some of my babies in the aviary ) and his hen SOOTICA We have three babies ( the fourth died ). Any guesses on mutations ? Babies are feathering up now from pin feather stage. Would you like to guess what they will be ? January 7, 200817 yr GOLIATH X SOOTICA = Beautiful bubs spangles pieds spangle pieds opalines (if I remember Goliath is split) spangle opalines pied oplaines spangle pieds opalines colours will be yf type 1 cobalt and skyblues MICKEY X SOFTY Opalines Noramals Pieds Opaline Pieds in yellowface type2 and sky blue plus all chicks spilt for greywing

January 9, 200817 yr Very cute. So in micky and Softy's babies, the first one does not look like an opaline, but will look like dad otherwise, you can say it is a baby boy YF2 right? Mum is a greywing clearflight pied? Is that right? Babies 2 and 3 certainly look like pieds. they have their Dad's colour, with the yellow pins on tail, but they look pied to me as well

Babies two and three are pieds...white base.
January 9, 200817 yr The pieds mess with me on pin feathers.. (Laughing out loud)... but they are adorable! Goliath's baby 1 is my favorite, just go ahead and pack 'em up and ship to the US /giggle hehehe
January 11, 200817 yr Author While I was out today SOFTY attacked and killed this chick so I have removed her from the breeder cabinet and placed the other two chicks in the nest of GOLIATH and SOOTICA.....so far so good.
January 11, 200817 yr Author It looks okay so far. Goliath got in and fed the two newcomers straight away. I will check them in the morning.

January 12, 200817 yr Oh Kaz, the poor little bub!!! At least you've got some great fosters to take over the motherly role with the others. I wonder why some hens do what they do??? I guess they just weren't meant to be mum's but had sex anyway... Like some HUMANS...
January 15, 200817 yr Author Here are Goliath and Sootica's three identical triplets...YF skyblue dominant pied spangles. I cannot tell one from the other yet. adopted chick from Micket and Softy other adopted chick was hiding under most of these guys
