Thanks Norm , Im very happy with the way they have settled since I got them ,

Now the decision is which way to best utilise them across my stock.

I like the last one in particular his shade of blue is beautiful

Thanks guys . The mauve cock I bought is to breed with my sky blues to produce more cobalts , Im very interested in the dark factor birds and trying to produce some top mauves and maybe some olives if it comes off. Fingers crossed. :feedbirds:

congratulations,i love the mauve cock, such beautiful colours!

:( What are outcrosses? They look like lovely budgies. :rip:

Outcrosses are birds from a different family to the ones they are being paired to . They can come from your own flock with different families or from a totally new source . They are usually used to intrduce new blood to a flock or line of birds to maintain vitality within a line of birds .

Bubbles.

Basically an outcross is a bird that has no blood relation to the birds I already have . For exibition breeders the outcross must also have good features that my birds dont possess and no faults , that way when you breed with these birds I hope to improve the quality of my birds without loosing the features I have already developed . Thus transfering hopefully the good features from the outcross to my family line of birds.

Fingers crossed :rip:
