January 6, 200817 yr Outcrosses are birds from a different family to the ones they are being paired to . They can come from your own flock with different families or from a totally new source . They are usually used to intrduce new blood to a flock or line of birds to maintain vitality within a line of birds . Bubbles.
January 6, 200817 yr Basically an outcross is a bird that has no blood relation to the birds I already have . For exibition breeders the outcross must also have good features that my birds dont possess and no faults , that way when you breed with these birds I hope to improve the quality of my birds without loosing the features I have already developed . Thus transfering hopefully the good features from the outcross to my family line of birds. Fingers crossed :rip:
