Hi all,

 

We have a flat 'perch' in our aviary, like a flat surface and when some of my birds have their naps they sometimes lay their whole bodies down on the flat surface...? I didn't think that budgies did that to rest. They like to nap in the late afternoon.

alot of my younger budgies lie down to rest.. basically anywehre they can... flat perches, nest boxes, the ground... but i've only seen it in the young ones... although an albino of mine named moon is well on her way to 12 months and still does it:P

Aww how cute! I love watching them lay down as they look so cute.

I was going to say the same thing libby said the younger ones tend it nap and do that more often as they grow up it is hard to catch them napping at all .

I have lots of flat perches in my new aviary and most of the birds sleep laying down now. It scared me the first day, I thougth they are sick. But I think they are okay, and look more comfortable :rip:

I agree, the first time I saw it I thought they were sick.

Wow I never knew that - I guess you learn something new every day!

Yeah, it's really cute to watch, i've been trying to catch a picture of it but they get up when they see the camera .
