December 2, 200717 yr The V shape between the shoulders is what makes the bird opaline with the reverse pattern on the head not the blue running through the wings (some opaline have that some don't). From a front shot it doesn't look opaline. Are those all your birds?
December 3, 200717 yr 11 looks opaline to me- yf2 opaline spangle I reckon 10 is greywing spangle as the markings look really light to me But you have picked them well. Nice birds too.
December 3, 200717 yr Author Yes, they are all of my birds and yes number 10 does look like a greywing spangle. I looked at number 11 today and she does look opaline...pictures coming soon!

December 4, 200717 yr Hi there just like to say that your number one bird the opaline green has a perfect v of body colour between the wings a very hard trait to keep in the opaline variety as they revert back to normal and carry the black feather markings between the wings . Although a long way off from a show bird it is nice to be reminded of how beautiful the real opaline variety is (complete body colour with just the black in the wings), its a pity that the opaline breeders let this trait slip away , They are a beautiful bird. Thankyou . A nice gathering of birds.
