November 12, 200717 yr He is a gorgeous bird, I am going to have to put your pics down to links though because the board max for posting pics is 450x450 it keeps the boards running smoothly. To me he looks like a Golden Face and possible mauve with the yellow and mauve making that beautiful coloration of olive like green. Have you had him since he was a baby? He was blue and changed into this green? Does he have light grey or light brown cheek throat spots?
November 13, 200717 yr He's gorgeous!! What an interesting colour. Sorry cant help with the yellow face type All the best Liv
November 13, 200717 yr Author He is a gorgeous bird, I am going to have to put your pics down to links though because the board max for posting pics is 450x450 it keeps the boards running smoothly. He was blue and changed into this green? Does he have light grey or light brown cheek throat spots? No,I found it from the pet store yesterday. It looks like very special. He have light grey cheek throat spots on his face. I think his body color is grey, not mauve.
November 13, 200717 yr you could be very well right, lets see with others say... I saw the light grey throat spots and thought a greywing but his wing pattern looks strong to be a greywing.
November 13, 200717 yr It may be the camra,I think he is a greygreen, greywing. You have to remember,he is in China, the colour may be a lttle different.
November 13, 200717 yr Just a bit off topic, but if that cute little fella is a goldenface then my Arkady has definately got to be a goldenface as he has very bright yellow all the way down and is almost completely green all over. Almost as green as Emmett who is a yellow series bird.
November 13, 200717 yr if he is as macka said a grey green then he would not be a yellowface correct? (I was kinda of thinking that but didn't mention it before that he could be a green based and not blue bird.
November 13, 200717 yr No it is definately a yellowface rather than a yellow series bird. What I meant is that my Arkady is a brighter yellow than that.
November 13, 200717 yr if it is a blue series then I would say that your initial mutation would be correct dragonfly because that is what I am seeing too.
November 13, 200717 yr It's a nice looking bird, I saw it yesterday, but I haven't seen a bird coloured like that before so I was waiting to see what others thought about it. I think it's probably a Grey, Grey wing & the little bit of Green in the body is the bleed of colour. I also think it probably is a Golden Face not a Yellow Face, but I don't know enough about them, to know if Golden Faces have the bleed of Green in their colour. I have some Blue birds with strong Yellow Faces, which I want to post on here to get opinions on later, after I get some pictures. I have some with that strong Golden Face as different to a Creamy Yellow, which I think is more the YF1 & YF2. So my guess Dragonfly-Sky is that it is a Golden Face Grey, Greywing. I think it's check patches look Grey which means it's either Grey or Greygreen. Edited November 13, 200717 yr by Norm
November 13, 200717 yr Norm isn't golden face just the intensity or the deepest of the yellow of the yellowface gene?
November 13, 200717 yr Norm isn't golden face just the intensity or the deepest of the yellow of the yellowface gene? I'm not sure Elly I'm just learning about the difference between Golden Face, Yellow Face & when I was doing that aviary visit a few weeks ago they were talking about Cream Faced...it's a bit of a mistery???
November 13, 200717 yr I have both Golden face and yellow face in my aviary. Golden face is a darker golden colour and yellow face is half the strength of gold.
November 13, 200717 yr I have both Golden face and yellow face in my aviary. Golden face is a darker golden colour and yellow face is half the strength of gold. Yes I'm sure I'm the same Kaz, have been wanting to get some pics of mine to get comfirmation from some of you guys.

November 14, 200717 yr Kaz are golden face and yellow face the same gene just the yellow is darker or lighter? I dont think so, but I am not that up to date with my information. I DO know that it is advised NOT to breed YF to GF. This article may help http://www.birdhobbyist.com/parrotcolour/peter/yface01.html and this is part 2 http://www.birdhobbyist.com/parrotcolour/peter/yface02.html
November 18, 200717 yr Yellowface type 2 grey greywing. The green part of the body is too patchy looking to be a straight grey-green.
