Looking Into Getting A New Cage

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have one pet budgie named George at the moment and looking at getting a second. I am also looking at getting a new cage and the model of the cage I am interested in getting is 82cm x 46cm x 160cm Tall which includes the stand. It is a popular model which alot of people seem to have on this forum. I will keep the second one in quarantine of course before joining it with my current budgie. I was wondering whether the size of this cage would be too large for 2 budgies.

Some advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

There's no such thing as a TOO LARGE cage for budgies. They love space to fly

Yes I agree and if you're anything like us, which you will be, eventually there will be more than two budgies in that cage.

Vicky,

your budgies will absolutely love you, giving them such a brilliant cage (yes, I have one like that too). With mine, I put the perches on either side of the cage, to give them flying room in between and put the food and water containers down low in the middle, where they weren't under perches to get pooped on. This helped them to use all the space in their cage and get good exercise.

That's exactly what I was thinking. :) I have 1 right now and when I get another budgie I plan to have the 2 for some time. If I decide to get some more in the future I know my cage will be big enough. I plan to use my old cage for my new budgie to quarantine for a month and then place it into the new one with my current budgie. George is tame and sits on my hand and I am looking to get another the same. I hope they get along. Will let you know once I get the new one.
