Posted October 28, 200717 yr Hello everyone "Specially Kaz" last year the female had 3 clutches but middle of this year the Old partner actidently got out of the Avery and there was only like 10 budgies left, so we got afew more she paired off with the pied on the right, (it's his brother but i don't have the cam, they're the same just different markings on the wings the black tips, he's be close to 1 year old the greenyyellow female seems to be pretty experienced Well this is her first clutch for this year and we eneded up with 6 eggs and with 5 babies hatching her partner seems to be involved but not devoted, like ill feed her when feel like it she seems to have to feed herself half the time, she looks really tired and warn out, is there anything that i can do? the weather is warming up so i would hate for the babies to suffer, is there anything that i can do to help? or just let nature takes it course? i give water, corn, honeysticks, bathwater, normal seed with shell grit anyways first journal, ill have pictures of the babies by tomorrow or threwout the week And what would be the outcome of the babies if they did survive on the color combinations? always appreciate all help because it not only helps me but my birds also
October 28, 200717 yr Put some millet sprays in the nestbox to help the hen feed herself and the chicks

October 31, 200717 yr Author Update: last egg hatched, 6/6 pretty damn good for first clutch for this season. but probably wont all survive so not getting my hopes up. photos coming soon when i figure how to turn off flash on cam, dont want blind budgies (Laughing out loud)
October 31, 200717 yr If you cant turn the flash off on your camera, put a bit of masking tape over the flash section, while you take your picture
November 3, 200717 yr Author Sorry about no baby pictures been so hard to get a hold of the cam my friend is still using it. Update, i knew it would happen but one of the babies died, it was the last hatched one, think it died due to being really small and suffercated or got squished there was a 2week barrier between the first and last hatched the oldest ones seem to be a yellow kinda color so yeah pictures wont be far away maybe tomorrow
November 4, 200717 yr Author I got the camera, this was my first shot, and here is another of one in my hand the oldest, i think it has traces of its father but it maybe to early to tell? experts please help :yellowhead: the oldest is 2 1/2 weeks old this is the second oldest 3days younger, the wings looks alot different, sorry that the picture isn't perfect, The mother was being impatient and another thing is the jean in green budgies really that powerful? last few years alot of green male budgies or mate with colored budgies always seem to be aleast 60% of the time coming out a traditional green budgie mother and father and 5weeks and 1 day old, it's interesting...
November 4, 200717 yr The green gene is dominant over blue, that is why if you have one green parent you will get 50 or 100% green birds

November 16, 200717 yr Author I think this boy............dom pied spangle http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb306/m.../Picture328.jpg is actually the father of your chick Hmmm... i had a funny feeling that he may have been but i thought the hen had more self respect (Laughing out loud) guess not... and the dom pied blue/white seemed to be such a passive thing ... when im not looking i guess there's another side to him that im not aware of ... Thanks Kaz Edited November 16, 200717 yr by Elly put picture to link, too large for the board, thanks for understanding
November 16, 200717 yr Remember Shaun the budgies are up and into mischief way before we get out of bed....mostly There is no such thing as a "faithful" budgie when nestboxes and hens are in an aviary. and it's "the quiet ones" that surprise us.
November 16, 200717 yr Author Remember Shaun the budgies are up and into mischief way before we get out of bed....mostly There is no such thing as a "faithful" budgie when nestboxes and hens are in an aviary. and it's "the quiet ones" that surprise us. haha shifty characters ill have to keep a watch out for the budgie who sits by themselves more closely well aleast the green didn't get to her (traditional green budgie fans) they're like a plague once theres one then theres 2-4-...etc i don't care what budgies i have but i don't like having more than 1-2 greens (Laughing out loud) but the mum also has a green that annoyed me (Laughing out loud) now we have 3 greens all together (1 from another box) so i guess all the males had a go on the train Too Too!! Edited November 16, 200717 yr by shaunx
