Budgie Buddy

I have a question about Budgie Buddies.

Those things that are furry and you tie on the side of the cage which are supposed to represent a real budgie...

Just wondering if l should get one for Sherbet? She's a very agressive thing at times, headbutting bells and biting and tearing into anything.

Wouldn't the fibres come out of she attacks it with her beak? Surely these fibres are toxic or harmful if swallowed?

all the ones I have ever seen in cages just get covered in poop :budgiedance:

From reading and being on these boards long enough putting in mirrors, plastic budgies can cause trouble especially in an already aggressive "protective" of my stuff type of budgie. If you find she attaches herself it any toy and it becomes obessive I would remove it and only give it to her for cage out time and rewards. Merlin and Pretty never had mirrors and they were both on their own with no other budgie and they never became agressive toward any toys. Moving stuff around in the cage 1x a month also helps and rotating toys.

Thanks guys,

I rotate her toys around almost once a week when l clean her cage.

Since she's on her own l thought it might be nice to give her a little "friend" (mirror) to keep her company. She talks to it at times but is very agressive and moody with me, my dad and her toys.

because of that behavior I wouldn't give her those things because she is too protective of them - think how frustrating it is when your friend doesn't talk back to you or recepiocate your love. That is why you see most birds banging on them out of frustration.

Merlin is a sole budgie and he doesn't have any of those things and honestly he is totally fine :)
