Budgie Books

My dad told me that he used to have a stack of Budgie Books and told me about a shop not too far away from me that may sell them.

Should l get some? Would it be worth it?

Does anyone else here use books?

If they are recent books they would be worth reading, most i've found are seriously outdated with information that is now known to be incorrect (e.g. grit is necessary, small cages are fine, etc).

The small 'pet budgie' 'how to tame parakeets' books I found helpful when I was with my first budgie. Although I simply got mine out from the library and re-read them over and over. So if your not sure I would suggest check your library first.

I already checked the library, but the good books haven't been returned since 2005

I mean, if l have a question, l just ask everyone on here, my question gets answered pretty quickly :o

I will have a look at the published date though. Apparently its like a pet shop, but birds only :D I'm very excited. My dad used to go there years ago when l was really little when he had an aviary and found it pretty good.

I know! I searched online and l looked at the part that says "Due Date" and underneath it they have something along the lines of "On Loan - Due 9-5-2005 :D

Well have a good look at the books in the shop before buying :dbb1: Or have you been already?

I got back not too long ago, and to my disappointment, he had every book on birds imaginable - but none on Budgies :dbb1:

He had quite a lot of birds for sale too, l saw a really pretty albino one and a grey budgie - very beautiful.

Shame about the book though :ausb:

library's have an internal loan thingy set up so if you want a certain book they can get it for you from another library that stocks it. Just gotta know what you are after. I search the internet then whenever I find something I can use now or in the future or think is interesting I download or print it and keep in a folder. :dbb1:

yes they are worth reading as you will get valueable info about what you should and shouldnt do. the newer books are more important with updated info but some of the older books do have good info
