this is the best shot i can get of him. his back and wing are a yellow/white colour

thanks

Whatever he is he's just gorgeous! :(

He looks like a yf2 skyblue something-or-other to me...you'll have to wait for someone to fill in the "something-or-other" though. :fear Maybe a clearwing.

Hey timbo.

In my limited experience I agree with Bea YF2 sky blue somethin or rahter....

Can you take a picture of the back of the wings so we can see if he has any wing patterns and what type that would really help :fear

He looks like a yellowface 2 skyblue opaline (possible more) maybe pied or spangle since he has a tail feathers that are clear

Edited by Elly

Yes he is a yellowface type 2 or golden face. I would wonder about the pied since he has strong green markings on the chest and pale marks on the rest of the body. He also has a white cheek patch rather than the standard blue which is a sign of a pied or possible a spangle, although they normally have mixed cheek patches. Try really hard for a back shot.

he is paired up with a yf2 cobalt

Going with a Yellow face Type 2 Clearwing (he could have other genes that are being masked by the clearwing mutation)

i forgot to add that close up and it doesnt show on the pics there are very light markings on tht wings. thanks for all the help.

he is a spangle, what I'm not sure about is if he is DF spangle with bleed through with the yellowface gene or a very lightly marked SF spangle. DF shouldn't have marks on the flight feathers. I wouldn't say pied now looking at the other cheek patch.

If he is paired to normal you will need to watch for normals in the babies to know about the single factor or not.

I agree with you Nerwen, looks like YF2 DF Spangle, don’t know what else it could be. Timbo.1 did anyone ask you did you just buy the bird? If you bred it or know what it’s parents were it would help…if not what Nerwen says is the best we can do & like she said, once you breed him & we could see his young maybe it would confirm.

i brought him from an avairy that had a lot of combination yf2 blues and other colours. he has paired up with a yf2 cobalt and wont be long till i see eggs. i am fascinated by what colours they will give.

he has his first egg. i'm looking forward to see what the young are

I'm going to say SF Spangle.. He could have the clearwing gene.. He is a YFT2 sky blue spangle.

Who is he paired up with please?
