Today, I got home from the pool, and I went in my room to find both my Male and Female in the Nesting Box together, and they have never both been in there before let alone at the same time. What does this mean? Could they be breeding? They are still in there together, I never went in to change, I figured I would leave them alone..Any Advice?

I just went back up in my room and now Butetrcup is out of the nest but Waxy is still in there and he is sleeping!

My birds often did the same thing. I don't think they're doing fiddles in there, but they often stayed in the nesting box for long times before the eggs even came.

They're seriously planning on using it, that's for sure. :)

Budgies Mate on the branch not in the box. It seems both are happy with the box however with the male simply sleeping it it they might not be seeing it as a nesting site rather as a play thing.

Okay well I have another question now. I brought them downstairs with me again, with the nesting box. Buttercup went inside and Waxy is on top eating millet. But sometimes when I come near the nesting box Buttercup will start squacking and will not stop, she will do it for about a minute. What does that mean?

Sorry I have so many questions. :)

Mostly hens will screech at you, especially when in the nest, it's just a sort of warning that they don't want you so near to them. Often with a hen that does it, even the babies will start doing it if they hear a loud noise or if you inspect their nest box.

Bud never did it with me... She did do it with Pat though when he was coming near the nest too late in the night. She kept very firm visit hours. :)

...The babies did it later too, when I put the blanket over the cage for nighties. <_< The last 2 in the box still do it, and they even do it afterwards if they hear the parents moving outside the box.

As Elly mentioned in another post, it's not a good idea to move the nest box around. It's unsettling for them, and i'm sure quite stressful. I just thought it was worth mentioning here too, incase someone was reading and thought to try moving the nest box around too. :)
