New Additions To My Flock -

On Monday I welcomed three more beautiful babies to my flock. I'm not sure on colours, or even sex but I'm thinking they are girls????

Firstlyat the front, Bella, who has mottled cheek patches in dark purple/silver - which makes me think spangle- but does not have definate spangled wing markings??? She is pied. At the back is the unnamed bird and Mary.

Next is Mary, colour unsure - thinking greygreen spangle - the head on the left belongs to the last bird

We are still tossing around names for this last one, but she is the sweetest thing and Mary sister.

Gorgeous.....I think you had better rename MARY though...could grow up with a complex being called Mary all his life

Have you a better photos of "mary's" friend in the middle photo ?

I'm actually buying them a bigger cage this afternoon, so will try for better photos in that cage - I had to get too close for the camera to focus  or I'll just wait until they are a little tamer to try for better photos:)

Mary is a he like Kaz said...and he looks like a clearwing but do you have clearer pics of his front and back? Is the color on his front actually green or suffusion?

Bella looks like a clearflight dominant pied and the cheek pattern is probably due to the pied mutation.

Unnamed bird is a opaline clearflight dominant pied, looks to be of the blue series a possible yellowface 2?

Looking closer at MARY the boy budgie.....he has light cinnamon spangle markings on wings and flights :budgiedance:

yes I saw that but I figured it was old eyes and my screen I believe it is a cinnamon and was going to ask that before. Still can be a clearflight cinnamon though because the marking are very very light :budgiedance:.

oh and Kaz you think Spangle on Mary becaue of the clear tail or is that because of the mutation?

The markings appear spangle...there is faint cinnamon markings to edges of feather on wings and flight like spangle.

So you think Kaz Greygreen Cinnamon Clearwing Spangle

grey green would make sense to be the coloring because of the silvery cheek patches, olives have blue even though the coloring looks more olive.

I'm not sure what you mean by a suffusion.

The colour as best I can described is a light grey/green.

Definate spangle markings, although they are a very feint greyish colour. Not sure if clearwing would apply though.

The mother of Mary and the unnamed baby is a lutino and Dad a blue series (I am yet to see him) I know that the hen carries the spangle gene, as she is one of my babies from last year that I passed on  and yes I think the unnamed bird is actually a yf2.

Looking for BOY names for Mary.....

Marty

Mardi

Manny

Mooki

Tierri

Luki

 I'd be more than happy if she is most definately a he :) But I'm left wondering what to tell the little girl who named "him" :P

What about Mark or Marcus. Or Mars

Budgies can't carry the spangle gene, because it is dominant. If they are carrying it, it will show.

ooo Maybe you could call him Merry, like from Lord of the rings

if that one has grey marking that strike the cinnamon from the mutation :) and keep the rest
