Posted June 26, 200718 yr I am Breeding my Budgies, they are a few years old, and My female, has a Crusty cere which I was told means she is ready to breed. I have a nest box in the cage, and she goes in it, ALOT, and the Male will occasionally peek inside, How long should it take for a budgie to lay eggs? and then for them to hatch? Katie
June 26, 200718 yr I'm pretty sure it varies... I think it took mine about three weeks. I think I put the box in May 4th and she laid her first egg on the 24th. Then she lays a new one every 2 days until she gets bored. Hatching takes 18 days. Edited June 26, 200718 yr by Michelle
June 26, 200718 yr From the time you see them actually do the "deed" if you do, most are pretty active in the morning it is usually about 10-14 days (each bird varies). You can check out our Breeding FAQ for more information too http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...tion=show&cat=7

June 27, 200718 yr Well I have had the male for about 2 or 3 years, and I got him at a young age, and the female is about 1 or 2 and I got her at a young age also. They have never Bred, but they LOVE eachother!
