in the box there r (are) 2 eggs and she has been sitting on them for about 1 week to day i noticed that her bum is very swollen is this normal and how long will she be sitting on the eggs befor they hatch.

When did she last lay her egg? How old is she? She may be egg bound or she may be preparing to lay her next egg. It depends when she last laid her egg. They lay eggs every two days. I was just wondering because they usually lay more than two eggs. However she may be fine.

It takes 18 to 21 days for the eggs. Sometimes they take 17 days sometimes they take over 25 days to hatch.

jjg, I think a bit more information, will be need, to give you,some help.Like how swollen is the vent,are the feathers around it damp & dirty.Can you feel alump,how many days ago did she lay the last egg.Dose she look fluffed up & have trouble moveing about.Have you seen her out othe nest eating,

it has gone down now so i gather she has laid another egg i havent checked i have been working from 5 in the morning to 7 at night
