This is a little poem i wrote for a Creative Writing class i'm doing at school. I thought i would share it!

 

So You’re Just A Budgie

So you’re just a budgie, that’s what they all say

Yet my heart bursts with joy, just to see you play

So you’re just a budgie, so small and cheap and plain

But your sweet bubbly chatter, always dulls my pain

So you’re just a budgie, nothing interesting or new

How I love your sleek smooth feathers, so beautiful and blue

So you’re just a budgie, to be caged all day long

I would let you fly free always, even though they say it’s wrong

So you’re just a budgie, an easy childhood pet

What a devilish little mind you have, underestimated I bet

So you’re just a budgie, that’s all they’ll ever see

Know my friend, you’re more than that, you mean the world to me

Well Fizzy technically isn't mine...i needed to fill a spot in my sig. I might make a new avatar with him today though.

Well it took a long time of sitting and staring at a blank screen (poetry isn't really my thing), but once i got the idea it didn't take long. :sad:

Like the new siggy too....I thought you adopted Fizzy ...how are Tim and him getting along?

Well Tim feeds, waters and cleans the cage (when i tell him to). But i seem to be the one who gets him out to play all the time.

That is a gorgeous poem Bea. I hope you get tops marks for that. It is quite meaningful.

Have only just seen this thread, in fact I haven't been into the poems before. I think that poem is really lovely and sums up everything I feel about my darling boy..... he does mean the world to me so I understand exactly what you mean. Well done and here's hoping you write some more.
