Posted May 29, 200717 yr I like my birds alot. While I don't consider myself a rabbid animal lover, I'm still very glad to have them around me to bring me joy. Well I just candled egg #1. I looked at it... I had to take it out of the nest afterall, as much as I tried, I can't candle any egg in there without taking them out. Well, like I said, I candled it... and I was seeing a little heart beating. I swear, this was a beautiful moment. Edited May 29, 200717 yr by Michelle
May 29, 200717 yr Congratulations, but be careful they are very delicate things [the eggs] you would be upset if you broke one…good luck.
May 29, 200717 yr Author It's okay, I'm done handling them. Just knowing that one is fertile is enough for me! Eeheeeee! Anyway, it probably means that the rest probably is too. Or most of them.
May 30, 200717 yr I can't picture the feeling you must have. It must be great and congratulations. Budgielover Edited May 30, 200717 yr by Budgielover

May 30, 200717 yr First time i saw that one of my budgies eggs was fertile i did a little happy dance on the spot. It's a great feeling.
May 30, 200717 yr It's great I felt the same when I candled my first tiel egg. It's so cool how quicky everything goes with birds - you see a little heart beating, then you hear a quiet beeping and then a little later there is a new beautiful birdie . I just love them
May 30, 200717 yr That is a great feeling I remember doing a happy dance like Bea the first time I saw the veins then another round I saw the heart beat like you did. I named that bub Cupid.

May 30, 200717 yr Author Thanks guys! It really makes you amazed at the wonder of life, as cheesy as it sounds. :hap: That something so tiny tiny will become a bigger bird... NICE. I think that's the one I'll keep... I dunno what I'll name it yet. Edited May 30, 200717 yr by Michelle
May 30, 200717 yr Fantastic news!! How exciting for you. I did a happy dance as well for my first fertile egg. In fact all 6 fertile eggs...(Laughing out loud)
June 2, 200717 yr Author Well let's see. First egg was laid on the 24th, so... count up 18 days and such...
June 4, 200717 yr Oh, it's just fabulous! I was so happy I took many piccies and jumped up and down and ran and told my parents (Laughing out loud). It's so nice to see the miracle of life... and to watch something grow from in an egg, to a baby, to a weaned bird, to an adult. Wow, its priceless! Nathan
