May 29, 200717 yr Author I would use a flexitorch... But the one I have is USB! I can't bring my computer there, hehe... I candled the two first eggs (considering #1 might be #2 and all that mess I did. ) in a hurry today but I didn't see anything. I might've missed it or it's a bit too early. I'll check back in a couple days... Edited May 29, 200717 yr by Michelle

The darkness of the nesting box helps too, to see what you need to when the torch is BEHIND the egg and still in the nestbox. An egg candled too soon is too hard to tell also.

I have a tiny LED keychain laying around, I'll use that next time. Hmm, maybe it's worth a stop by a shop on work's lunchtime though. Just to see if I can find one that is easier to use than my keychain... the button is a bit hard to hold. Edited May 29, 200717 yr by Michelle
May 29, 200717 yr I only did a few of my eggs too before I stopped bothering. I keep a chart for each pair on a board in the room and note all their breeding details, eggs, hatchlings etc on there. I too use a flexi torch. Feathers
May 29, 200717 yr Author Yah well... It's the first eggs I ever get so I'm curious see. Well I went to the shop today and got myself a torch. It's not a snakelight, unfortunately, but I think it might do the job just fine! Clicky The lamp part, as you can see, is at a 90 degree angle from the pen. That could just work for checking eggs in the nest. I also got myself a tiny much brighter LED lamp that I'll be able to put behind the eggs carefully if the pen isn't bright enough.
