Guess The Bird

Featured Replies

okay I think this has been played before. But it is fun.

One person posts a picture of a bird and you have to guess the name.

The person who guesses correctly get to put up the next picture. You can use your own pictures or ones found on the internet, but do not hotlink pictures. Upload them to your your photobucket account and remember to keep them in side the board size rules.

lets begin:

Thanks. :P

Here's my picture. if you need a 'non flying' picture of this bird, please let me know, but it should be fairly easy. :P

Flyflyfly.jpg

it looks like a hawk of some sort - I don't think I am going to be very good at this

Close Elly, but no, not a hawk.

Here's a picture of the same bird but not flying anymore.

Flyfly.jpg

well done Elly. it is a white bellied sea eagle. gorgeous creatures they are. :P

Aly you were close that is a White-Bellied Sea Eagle

In flight it very much looked like a gull. Standing with those powerful legs I would never have guessed a gull :P

It has the look, shape and frontal markings of a wattle bird, but red beak? It is an australian bird.

It is going to bug me until I work it out. The shape of beak indicates a honeyeater of some description.
