June 14, 200717 yr Hi everyone I have just been browsing the net for Eucalyptus trees and found this link http://www.gardeningexpress.co.uk/ProductD...ProductID=10632 Not too sure if its the right one but it certainly looks like it. Can anyone recommend which type of Eucalyptus budgies like the most? There are quite a few types available. there are quite a few on-line gardening centres which sell trees in the uk for a good price. I am thinking of buying one and growing it at home. Only problem is I live in a flat and I am not sure whether the eucalyptus tree would grow inside. I don't really see a reason why it shouldn't. I will just have to make sure it doesn't grow to its estimated 25m height (Laughing out loud) I did also look for a small peppermint tree but that is nowhere to be found here in the UK.... mad Edited June 14, 200717 yr by Madman_CZ
June 14, 200717 yr Author That Eucalypt pictured looks like it is an inland species & I think most Eucalypts are safe, but as I said before, be careful buying a Peppermint, as that’s a common name used for many plants, not a botanical name & some could be poisonous. Kaz shows earlier a picture of the Peppermint they are using together with the correct botanical name, so that would be safe.
June 14, 200717 yr Are all eucalyptus trees safe for budgies? here in NZ we have heaps of eucalypts growing rampant. I like them though, they are nice trees
June 23, 200717 yr Any help regarding the pictures I put up in page one? A bit hard to tell but it looks like a Callistemon (bottlebrush) from the leaves, trunk and branches I can see. A photo of flowers, flower buds or seed pods would sure help. KathyW.
August 23, 200717 yr For any US members who are interested in giving their budgies eucalyptus branches & leaves, you can order it freshly-cut from http://eucproducts.com .. they are located in California .... Southern California is full of eucalyptus trees & in some areas if you did not know better, you'd think you were in Australia. :(Laughing out loud):
