April 22, 200718 yr Yep click here and there are instructions on to to post, resize etc...in the pinned sections. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=51 First you will need to upload your pictures to a website such as www.photobucket.com account (this is free). Make sure the pictures are resized to 450x450 no larger (instructions and free software to resize are in the pinned section). Then you can post them and photobucket will give you the coding you need to post the picture. Anymore questions we have a tech section you can ask in too .

April 22, 200718 yr Author 1 more question, I just got her yesterday and she still isn't eating her seed is that normal ( she has had some millet)
April 22, 200718 yr Blow lightly on her food and see if there are any empty husks. Budgies will hull their seeds and leave the covering of the seed and it looks full but it is actually empty. Do this daily so she can get down to the other seed. Also here is a great information on Budgie Diet because they should not be on an all seed diet it doesn't contain all the nutrients needs (even if people say it does). They should be on a mixture of seed, pellets, veggies, fruits etc... http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...tion=show&cat=5 Millet is awesome but feed it sparingly because it is fattening it is a wonder treat when working on taming or a simple treat - once a week is good. .
April 22, 200718 yr Hi Cinder, welcome to the forum, have a good time reading all the posts and like Kaz says, if there is something you can't find, just ask. You might want to put a small container of food and water on the floor of the cage until your bird gets used to the "official" containers, it's not unusual for a budgie to be scared and timid the first few days.
April 22, 200718 yr Hi Cinder, welcome to this wonderful BBC forum. It's great to see you on here, as a new budgie owner, asking lots of questions. It shows how much you must care for your new pet They are only little but there is an awful lot to learn about them Have fun here and always remember there is no such thing as a stupid question. Feathers.
April 22, 200718 yr Hey you! Everyone, Cinder is the new owner of the former 'Neptune' from Oscar and Ariels 1st clutch The recessive spangle mauve pied female Cinder's brother took Mars home too! Did he register too Cinder? And i sent you an email a few hours ago on how to post pictures, did you get it? I sent you their birthdays, and other tips Cannot wait to see pics of them on here! You guys will be amazing budgie owners, and just to let you know, the way your baby (I will let you tell the members what you named her) was on you yesterday, i knew she liked you, thats why im so pleased you took her and your brother took 'Mars'... ps- She will most likely stay near the top of her cage for the first few days, so you can take out the food cups that were in the smaller side doors, and place them on the side of the cage near the top, and take off the dish cover. That way she will see it. Then once she knows it's the food dish, you can place it anywhere and she will find it Best of luck!!! Nathan. Edited April 22, 200718 yr by Nathan.

Her name is Cinderella (Cinder) for everyone who doesn't know
April 23, 200718 yr awwe cute name. Welcome. When budgies first come home, they don't tend to eat, as they are a little scared, but she should start eating within 3 or 4 days. Some, like my Isis, can take up to a week to start eating.
April 23, 200718 yr Welcome Cinder.. Best of luck with your new addition This site is AWESOME you'll get lots of advice and info on how to raise & train your bird. Don't be afraid to ask questions even if you think they sound silly we are all here to help one another...... Good Luck and Enjoy ......

April 23, 200718 yr Great to hear! Hows Kiko doing? Have you guys been holding them yet? Or let them out? Nathan. Edited April 23, 200718 yr by Nathan.
April 23, 200718 yr Author Great to hear! Hows Kiko doing? Have you guys been holding them yet? Or let them out? Nathan. Kiko is great, yes we have been holding them and letting them out of their cages they like to explore our rooms! P.S. do birds need gravel? The man at the pet store said they did. :greenb:
April 23, 200718 yr No budgies do not require grit because they do hull their seeds. It can cause crop impaction, some breeders or those who have aviaries will use it but not regularly. I do not give mine grit, that is old school information.

April 24, 200718 yr Thats good to hear! Are they taming up better now that they are alone and are getting to know you as their freind? Do they stay on your finger or zoom off to the floor or back to the cage?! Nope, i never feed mine grit. They do not need it, it's a waste of money, time, and space (Laughing out loud) Nathan.

They are taming up pretty good but they still like to fly to their cages. I think they are starting to trust us more maybe think of us as a friend but the still have a lot more to go before they totaly trust us. :greenb: hello cinder!! Hi :hap:
April 24, 200718 yr Yup... trust takes time. No matter what pet you get, they need time to learn more about you to become more trustworthy :hap: Im sure, no in fact i KNOW, they will both come around fast, and realise you are great fun Just always speak to them softly, never shout, never grab them. If they fly away, simply put your finger infront of them, they will step on, and if you would like to return them to their cages, do so. If you want to keep them out a bit longer, simply put your body inbetween Cinder and the cage. So she cannot see it, and thats when you should add millet spray, to show your hands will not hurt them Nathan.
