Posted April 21, 200718 yr Well today I went on a budgie hunt and saw this gorgeous little bright green spangle male. I have been looking for a bright green budgie lately as I have no yellow based budgies at all, they are all white based!!!!. Plus I needed another boy, because when I sell my two boy babies, I will have a 1:2 ratio of boys to girls. 3 boys to 6 girls!!! Anyway Emmett was the clown of the avairy, I didn't want another spangle, but he had such character that I had to choose him over a yellow based rec pied boy and some opalines. He has a very gorgeous little chirp too. Here are some pics of him. Again they are taken with my webcam, so the quality is ****, but here he is. Edited April 24, 200718 yr by Sailorwolf
April 22, 200718 yr Author I am so proud of Emmett!!!! He is already eating and drinking while I watch him and I only got him yesterday. I have also managed to feed him millet by hand! He already has a blue cere and iris rings, but his baby bars are still there. So I'm guessing he is about 4 or 5 months old. He is progressing really well, tamewise. I decided though, that because he is a bit older than most babies when you buy them, that I would clip his wings. Well first I clipped all his primaries apart from the first 3 on each wing, however he still flew like nothing was wrong, so after a short chase with a t-shirt around the room I caught Emmett and cut off all his primaries bar the first ones and he still flies relatively well on that, but he can't gain much height, so it is good. I have his cage next to my bed, where I spend alot of time studying and sleeping so I'm near him alot.
April 22, 200718 yr Congratulations on Emmett look forward to some photos I can "see" Sounds like you picked a winner.
April 28, 200718 yr Author Well here are some (slightly) better pictures of Emmett, you can actually see his colour:
April 29, 200718 yr Author Oh yes he is in quarantine. He is on top of his quarantine cage in that picture. Saffy is also in quarantine with him, becuase when she hurt her foot, I had to put her in the carry cage I brought Emmett home in. Plus, being in the smaller cage means she can't move around as much. She helps me tame him too.
April 29, 200718 yr Hiya, He is a cutie, from what I can see. Poor Saffy, how is she going now? I have it on my to do list this week to get some gaffa tape to cut off and tape over any toys that have fuzzy rope hanging off them. Feathers. Edited April 29, 200718 yr by feathers
