March 24, 200718 yr http://www.mdvaden.com/bird_page.shtml here is a site I use I am not sure if they have gum trees listed.
March 24, 200718 yr What ever you do, do NOT use oleander. Very poisonous. However, apple, poplar and willow (these last two are used for stock feed, so I gather they are safe) are goo and fine for budgies.
March 25, 200718 yr Eucalyptus/gum tree is fine for budgies. they actually love chewing, gnawing on the leaves itself.. Bottlebrush is good too! My budgies strip the bark off the branch and leave the hardwood inside alone. :ausb:
March 25, 200718 yr as a basic rule most native australian plants are safe for birds, use the wild birds around you for a good guide, if the wild birds are chewing on then then they are safe. Sco-tie
