Hi

Wondering what types of branches we can use in our aviaries being theres not much around at the moment.

We have gum trees? Id that safe or not?

As far as we know all types are fine.. Just make sure you wash them for pests.

What ever you do, do NOT use oleander. Very poisonous.

However, apple, poplar and willow (these last two are used for stock feed, so I gather they are safe) are goo and fine for budgies. :D

Eucalyptus/gum tree is fine for budgies. they actually love chewing, gnawing on the leaves itself.. Bottlebrush is good too! My budgies strip the bark off the branch and leave the hardwood inside alone. :ausb:

as a basic rule most native australian plants are safe for birds, use the wild birds around you for a good guide, if the wild birds are chewing on then then they are safe.
