June 9, 200817 yr Author I lost some birds through the weekend. The boys doing the birdroom ( husband Ken and friend Gary ) had dislodged some wire on my aviary front and I lost some birds that escaped. Bad weather so they are gone. I ended up getting only one back that stayed on a neighbours patio sitting on her light fixture. Edited June 9, 200817 yr by KAZ

June 9, 200817 yr Sorry to hear you lost some birds Kaz, was it many? I know loosing any isn’t good but was any of them special or expensive birds you bought? Raining here again too, not many days clear here of late…good luck with the building, hope no more problems…don’t know about the “MEN” bit maybe they couldn’t concentrate with being licked in the face by those dogs…they look cute.

As far as which birds went missing, I wont know till I try and locate some of them or go through all my records. I know I lost a couple of youngsters...pet types. Sorry MB ...your creamino was one of them Well we are after all, only human dear. Yep...its okay. I am getting the birdroom put up finally and thats the main thing. Once all is done there will be no way for things like this to happen. The aim is for vermin proof, leakproof aviaries and birdroom. Hopefully it will be acchieved. Edited June 9, 200817 yr by KAZ
June 9, 200817 yr Sorry for your losses You have made great progress with the building. I can't believe how fast it is going up! Your budgies are going to be so happy in their custom made fortress
June 16, 200817 yr Looks great so far, hopefully not too much longer before it is functional. I'm sorry you have lost some birds in the process though. With luck maybe they will find their way home? The dogs are adorable too. Edited June 16, 200817 yr by Rainbow

With luck maybe they will find their way home? The dogs are adorable too. We have had some horrid rain and winds and I dont think any more birds will find their way home. The new birdroom should be done by the weekend...I am trying to tile the floor through the week, and make the gates for the entry to the future new flights at the far right of the birdroom. More photos to follow
June 16, 200817 yr Sorry Kaz, just read this, how sad for you, what a bad run! Sad to hear about the little cremino, but I got albino cock a few days ago so when he gets a bit older I'll just have to breed myself one I guess!
June 21, 200817 yr Author A beautiful day today so I am tiling the new birdroom floor today. Didnt get done through the week due to more rain and I was looking after my daughter post op with care time and her appointments. She has now gone home to her place and I can get things done. Ken is working on the finish of the exterior....gutters etc.

June 21, 200817 yr Glad to hear you finally had a fine day so you could get some more work done.i hope your daughter is going well and the op has help reduce the pain she was in.
June 21, 200817 yr Author Didnt get half the work done today that I wanted to as we were chasing after tools and it looks like I will run out of the adhesive too before we are done. I have done half the floor so far. Angie is doing well after her spinal fusion surgery. She can drive now but all things in moderation.....sitting driving and standing no more than 20 mins without a break etc. Edited June 21, 200817 yr by KAZ
June 22, 200817 yr Author Two thirds of the floor is tiled and we have run out of adhesive as suspected. Off to get some more and all tiling including grout should be finished by tomorrow afternoon. Makes the shed look bigger
June 23, 200817 yr Author Floor tiled. Next step insulation and wall panelling, but I may move the breeder cages in earlier.
June 24, 200817 yr I just cannot wait to see it when it's finished. Good to hear about your daughter .
June 24, 200817 yr Author It all takes time I have laid the tile floor and finished the grouting. Next list of things to do 1. insulate the walls 2. line the walls 3. fit cupboards, benchtop and and sink ( water already connected and tap ready to go ) 4. Make mesh inner doors to fit over existing doors 5. security screen for window 6. Mesh gates for right hand end to go into future new flights 7. Fit lights and power points. MOVE BIRDS IN........( might move them in sooner ).......breeding cage birds I mean. Edited June 24, 200817 yr by KAZ
June 24, 200817 yr sounds like it is coming right along Kaz, it does take time but you will look back and be so glad you didn't rush and did it the right way .
June 24, 200817 yr Awsome work Kaz... the floor looks brilliant! Good luck with the rest of your list.
June 24, 200817 yr Author As a first time tiler, I didnt do too bad considering the floor was a bit uneven. Was easier than I thought.
