My grandma's budgie Goldie - who I mentioned in another post has been missing for a week :budgiedance: he was exceptional. He had as many as 100 words and frases that he would say, such as 'welcome, good morning, how are you, mama, okay okay, goldie wants spinach, goldie is going to sleep, goldie is tired... etc etc etc' and the most interesting thing is that he'd start saying the night frases in the evening, never during the day!! did he really know what words to use when during the day? he was amazing... i hope we still find him, i hope someone found him - and not a cat - and that they'll see our poster and return him!

:budgiedance: Sorry that Goldie is still missing after your post in Missing and Found. He sounds like a wonderful budgie, I used to work with a lady that had a budgie that spoke over 50 words and phrases. Hobo was put down at 14 or 15 years due to a tumor in his stomach. Don't give up hope on Goldie. :greenb:

Yes, beleive it or not, they do know when to use particular words and phrases, because humans will use them at a particular time. This is the same way a baby human learns to speak. :)
