I have a whole lot of babies in nests right now and thought it would be easier to post them all in the one topic.

Here are four babies in the nest of Amara (violet opaline) and Clyde 2 ( sky normal )

** ON a sidenote. I entered four show budgies in a show tonight...my first real show bird entries. I got 3 firsts and one second in the Novice section.

Karen thats fantastic to get 3firsts and a second great effort, and the chicks look great.

Thanks Paul. It's encouraging to say the least. I even had what I think are better birds at home, but some were in breeding cabinets and others had moulted and lost tail feathers. ;)

This little baby....from Sampson and Delilah ( the one with the rickets problem ) has leapt out of the nesting box 7 times today so far and still hasn't got all its feathers !!

I have decided to call it kamikaze after the suicide bombers.

 

I have since put a tray of spongy wood shavings down under the nestbox hole for the next time he/she jumps out :)

Kamikaze leapt from the nesting box 11 times today and I kept putting HER back.

Little minx :D

Doesn't she know she hasnt enough feathers to fly ?! :)

Kamikaze ....not content with leaping out of the nesting box at least a dozen times a day, now has followers.

Geronimo is coming out too....both of them far too young and not enough feathers to glide out safely.

Quick question - I notice you got a lot of firsts. Are those first place by mutation?
