hey all,

 

i have a big female budgie and for the last year she has been sleeping on the floor all fluffed up during the day, she gets up to eat and drinks fine. ive brought her into a hospital cage numerous times and then she just perks up, ive treated her with vet antibiotics and wormed her previously and she has proper diet etc. but i haven't brought her inside for about 4months and she hasnt gone down hill or changed anything. she hasnt got any lumps or bumps or infections, her dropping are usual. and she is also at a good weight and size if anything she could loose afew grams (Laughing out loud).

 

im stumped with this bird anyone have any ideas?

Sounds strange. However if she has been doing this her whole life then she should be fine. Have you ever got her checked out by the vet?

I see you had her checked out by a vet was it an avian vet? My concern is it could be a bacteria that is triggered on by stress and it comes back. Bacteria even treated can stick around and lay dorminant.

YES i had her checked by an avian vet and thats how i got the antibiotics, it keeps comming and going so im stumped but ill see how she does when she comes into breeding condition, who knows maybe she'll pick up round then.
