Hi This is Little Boy Blue I still don't know why he cant fly. I rang the man that we got him off to see if he had any idea but as he is on night shift i have to wait for him to call back. These are some photos that i took yesterday.

Having a play in the water with Tom (i dont like water very much so Tom gives me a piggy back ride, much to his disgust)

:) Good Tom is helping Little Boy Blue out, :P . My Monty can't fly and the vet says there is no reason why he can't but I totally believe that Monty is mentally challenged but he sings very nicely and keeps falling on the floor when out of his cage. You will have to get it checked out that Blue has all his flight feathers intact, sometimes pulpitis or other conditions will render then flightless but only an avian vet or a breeder with lots of experience can determine this. :P

very sweet let us know what happens

Great pics. How very generous of the tiel to give him a ride.

Thanks everyone. Well took LBB back to the breeder last night and he is staying there for a couple of weeks so he can keep an eye on him.

He said he could not see any reason why he shouldn't be able to fly, so will have to wait and see. We did however come home with another new bird, The breeder gave him to us as he didn't sit nicely on the perch(sort of looks up when sitting) Will post some pictures after.

Love going to the breeders house, so many birds. I have my eye on another two , maybe in a few weeks.

Well we got LBB back today He still can't fly but the breeder said that he couldn't find anything wrong with him. He is eating well and looks healthy, so he is now going to be a inside bird. Kids are excited to have him back (the breeder also gave me another bird, seem come back with an extra bird every time we go there)

we would love to see more pics of him and your newest addition :)

seems the breeder knows he has founds someone trust worthy of his bubs :fear

Glad LBB is back he is a cute little one.

By the way what topic would i post in if i wanted to know the sex of my other birds? i wasn't sure

Thanks Jillinda

Funny that none of use picked it up before, but in those shots the cere is a very light blue, which means female. (young or out of condition)

As to asking about gender some post in the mutation area and others in the General Questions About Budgies. Either will be fine.

LBB is beautiful,I'm not experienced but would say girl.I have a grey female that goes very light blue when she is not in breeding condition. Can become confusing.

:P Don't worry about the not flying, it's the personality that counts. Maybe a new name is in order, Little Bluebelle? :nest:

My show bird Cassies cere is exactly the same and Littel Girl Blue hehe. She is around 7 months old and its showing no sign of tanning!

Just thought i would update everyone on Bluebelle, we decided to put her in the aviary so that she had company. We made it so that she could get to the food and water and up to the perches. She seems to be doing great and worked it out in no time at all.

Here is some of the stuff that we put up

I do have a question though, today when i was out watching them i noticed that Gina was regurgitating and feeding her so my ? is why?

Thanks

Jillinda

Bluebelle is absolutely beautiful.I thinks its great what you did in the aviary,I also have a budgie hat can't fly in my aviary and she does really well.Like you I put things in for her to climb and make sure she can get to all the food and water.

Bluebell could have been begging for food and she decided to feed her it is very normal for budgies to feed each other.

Excellent idea to help her get along, I remember Kaz's Trooper was given a ladder made by Cheeta's husband to help him get around. Before you know it he didn't have any issues..

Wonderful pics.

Thanks, She seems to like being with the other birds, my daughter was a bit sad because she had been taking her in to her room of a night.
