February 7, 200718 yr Author I know, thanks. I found a hire place open till 7pm, but the guy thinks it is due back tomorrow. So, I might keep you on standby Otherwise I will just wait until the weekend to organise it. I am such an "I want it, and I want it now" person... Feathers.
February 7, 200718 yr Hi Feathers, If still no luck finding a trailer, maybe you could try Kennards Hire or alternatively, some landscaping places hire out trailers. Finding muscles is another thing altogether...Hmm??? Best of luck - fingers crossed that you get it by end of this weekend... Turbs.

February 8, 200718 yr Author If still no luck finding a trailer, maybe you could try Kennards Hire Thanks for the help Sarah, Kennards was the first hire place we tried, but it closes too early :oliveb: Todays the day !! February 8, 200718 yr Cool. I bet you'll start furnishing it as soon as you get it in the door. :oliveb:
February 8, 200718 yr Author It's finally here!!! Bubbles (Karen and her other half, Ken) picked up the car trailer and bought it over, while I impatiently waited for my son and another friend to turn up so we could go get it. A bit of a drama happened when they were trying to move it - one end came loose (it is riveted back on again now - turns out the end section was an add on). While they were struggling to get it to the trailer a couple of extra hands turned up and it got on easily. Back home we came where it was dropped off on the front yard. Karen and Ken then had to race to get the trailer back before the garage closed so it didn't cost us more. We pop riveted the back end back on before my neighbours came and helped us take it up my steep driveway to put in position. Turns out it is way to big to put it where I had planned, so it will be moved again before the birds go in. Now I have a bit of time to give it a good vinegar wash and set it up how I want it. Finally home My New Aviary The Main Section (Was Originally 2 sections) The Breeder Room or or possible future toddler section Side view I'm soo happy Now all I need is a name... Feathers. February 8, 200718 yr Gorgeous and I like the name Feathers period or something to go along with feathers!! What a job but a GREAT reward at the end. I can't wait to see all your flock in there enjoying themselves.
February 8, 200718 yr Author Well, the actual birds are 'Feathers Flock'. I quite like the idea of having Feathers or Feathered in the name. The other ones I thought of are: Feathers Flats or Perch Palace. Jacquie has been watching too many Friends DVD's lately as she came up with Central Perch So, along with Feathered Nest we have 4 names to pick from so far. Decisions, decisions. Feathers.
February 8, 200718 yr Author wow Aly what a great aviary, your birds will love it. Thanks Paul. Considering I didn't want anything too big in case I move in the next 12 months or so, its a great start I have been lying here trying to figure out the best way to add on another section when Karen sells one of hers.
February 8, 200718 yr Feathers - on which side of your new aviary does your bed go? Or will you now start sleeping on a perch at night? Turbs :ausb:
February 9, 200718 yr Feather's Flight! Feathered Friendz Feather's coop hehe Aly's Aeyre <-- Is that how you spell it. It is supposed to be a place in the rock cliffs where eagles make nests. Aeere eere Aerie, I think. I couldn't find the dictionary. :ausb:
February 9, 200718 yr Author Feathers - on which side of your new aviary does your bed go? Or will you now start sleeping on a perch at night? Turbs Geez, you think you are just so funny, don't you? But, umm, actually I was going to book the builder to knock out a wall so we could get it in next week. :(Laughing out loud): Feather's Flight! Aly's Aeyre <-- Is that how you spell it. It is supposed to be a place in the rock cliffs where eagles make nests. Aeere eere Aerie, I think. I couldn't find the dictionary. Oh, yeah, I thought of Feathers Flight too. More decisions. And you are right about the aerie, it is also spelt 'eyrie', 'aery' and 'eyry'. Hmm, Aly's Eyrie. wow it looks super! I thought mine was big but that makes me jealous! It is very nice, Nerwen I was wondering how much you would charge if I commissioned you to do a name plate Feathers Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source aer·ie /ˈɛəri, ˈɪəri/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[air-ee, eer-ee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. the nest of a bird of prey, as an eagle or a hawk. 2. a lofty nest of any large bird. 3. a house, fortress, or the like, located high on a hill or mountain. 4. February 10, 200718 yr Author ......it's very quiet.....Feathers must be out buying a hundred new budgies for the new aviary That is tomorrow when I visit Paul Thanks for finding me that pretty Texan - Cammie (name from Coyote Ugly, great idea from Karen). better watch your aviaries she could be out there at night stuffing them in pillowcases to bring them home That is my daughter's job.. She is a better sneak than me. that's a real nice avairy , your lucky Thanks Birdluv. The lady who sold it was really lovely and she was happy to sell it to me. She told me not to pay the full price, but to make an offer Yes it would appear that Feathers is MIA (missing in action), bet she is up to her ears in budgie renovation stuff How did you guess? Actually last night we went to see the opening of the Perth Art Festival. Was lovely, the Australian Youth Orchestra accompanying a new animated version of Peter and the Wolf, following a tribal welcome to the land and the festival by the traditional owners of this land - Noongar Aboriginals. I love Prokofiev's music. As for the aviary. My son, Nathan is just putting up the shade cloth for where it is being moved to. Then it will be put up on a flat fridge board (with wheels) and a couple of skateboards to be shifted. Then we will be in full gear anchoring it, sealing the bottom, putting in new mesh to separate off the breeding area. A good clean with viegar and it will be ready to set up with perches and toys for the birdies to go in Whoopeee!! a still excitable feathers. Feathers
February 10, 200718 yr Author Shade cloth up and aviary scrubbed out. Need to go get a couple of budgies tomorrow from PaulH and Bubbles, but should have time to move the aviary to it's final position and start getting it prepared for tenants. Now I am just working out the best way to add Bubbles 'for sale' aviary Feathers.
