February 15, 200718 yr Yay. They all look so cute and settled in. I bet they are just loving the extra space right now. I am so jealous. :
February 15, 200718 yr Author Thyanks everyone. They are so happy out there. I was so worried about them coping with being 'outside'. They are very protected though, being under the patio and having shadecloth from the roof to the ground. The peppermint has been entirely demolished and we had a brave visiting pigeon looking for seed on the ground outside the cage being chased away by my dogs. You need a nice couch outside so that you can lie comfortably and watch them. Love the green budgies. Really nice looking lot. Are they on pellets? Good idea, I need to get my hammock and hammock stand back off my brother, at the moment I have a couple of patio chairs in front of it. As for the pellets, small packets of them here are really expensive, so, no - no pellets. I make sure they get plenty of vegies and high quality seed instead. I love the idea of the containers over the water and seedcontainers. When I had finches they nested in the seed container, Karen (Bubbles) had told me about the problem of birds going in the top. I was looking around for a bowl when I thought of these containers. I buy them in bulk in winter to store soups in the freezer. I'll bet you have noticed how much more lively they are in there too ...I will bring you some branches on Sunday before we go to our budgie club meeting. Karen, they are in budgie heaven. Thanks for the branches. They will love them as they have always had them in their cages. Everything looks fantastic Feathers! I'm so jealous. What a wonderful new abode for your budgies. I am okay at the moment and should be back to normal by the weekend, I hope. Edited February 15, 200718 yr by feathers

February 17, 200718 yr Author Am I invited to the party with Pie comes to visit?!?!?! Aly, your set up is wonderful!!! I have been reading the posts, but haven't responded. sorry. I think you've done such a great job with them! and yes those babies looks so very happy in there flying around. and secondly, you've overtaken me in the budgies count!! Hi Cheeta, I'm sure you were automatically invited. I heard you haven't been feeling well, hope you are better now. As for the budgie count, Jacquie and I figured that we now had more. The last budgie that I got off Paul, a large mauve-grey, is called Beachu (Beat you) Great photos feathers . They all look really happy. I can't wait to build my aviary and see my happy budgies in there It is really worth it. It's good for me too as it gets me up and out of my room. I have been spending a good deal of time out on the patio watching them flit to and fro. All of the peppermint I put in for them was all gone by Thursday afternoon, so yesterday they snacked on corn on the cob and bok choy. It's not such a bad life - if you're a bird. Feathers.
February 17, 200718 yr The thrill of sitting out by the aviary doesn't wear off either, Feathers. I spend my first morning cup of coffee time by the birds. It's just great watching them have fun.
