Hi guys,

Thought I would share some photos that I took earlier this afternoon, while we were having 'budgie time' with our special needs kids, Pascale and Chik'n.

This is Jacquie with the very rare "Pocket Budgie" :)

I know.. so fast... they are just loving all the attention :P I told Jacquie to get Chik'n out and do some tunnelling with him... that was the result. :)

:P What great pictures, it feels so funny when they get under your clothes (Phoebe loves to) :(Laughing out loud): Jacquie is a very pretty young lady. :)

Great shots! What are their special needs???

Pascale is a "runner budgie" and has no flights or tail feathers, due to pulpitis when he was a baby. Chicken was the 'runt' of a clutch from the same parents 6 months later, he was badly pecked by a parent, and we believe he may have a heart condition, you can quite often just see his little chest pumping.

They are getting all the love we can give them for however long they can be with us :P

Tee hee, those photos are funny. Seems like they are treating Jacquie as a jungle gym, with so many tunnels and places to climb!

My girl budgie Turbs does the same thing. Hops in your shirt and fluffs around like it's a nest. Funny little chook. She is nest mad and has a coconut shell "nest" in her cage - Just for fun and also to get her off her bag arthritis leggies.

Pascale started out fully feathered and fully flighted but lost all flights and ability to keep them after a pulpitis infection due to mice activity on the floor of the aviary at the time.

Here are some baby photos of Pacale (previously named Pasteil)

You are absolutelyt right there. He just loves snuggling into small spaces. I didn't expect chik'n to start doing it too. I had him on my tummy and he decided to worm his way under the blankets. They are both delightful little birdies.

:D them! How kind of you to take them in, I have always thought that my rescues (most of them) reward me ten times over. :D
 how cute, I like the one cuddling up to her face :D

Hi Feathers,

I am really interested in little Pascale (who is really cute!) because my new budgie Billy looks like he has pulpitis :D was on avairy floor at the breeders and i know there would be mice there, out on a farm. Same as pascale, as a baby had feathers but they all fell out. as they are growing back they just keep falling out! He is booked in to vet this week so i hope i get an accurate diagnosis but would love to know any tips on how to properly care for a runner budgie? He is my first budgie!

thanks,

Beth

Hi, there is no need to treat them any differently to a 'normal budgie. Instead of going out into my new aviary, he will stay in here with me in a smaller cage so that he doesn't have so high to climb.

A couple of photos of Pascale, who has settled right in at home. Sitting on me while I play with the computer or chat on the phone. I think he wanted to have a turn as well.

This is where Mum talks

But what does she use this for? It's very hard

Ah, he gets cuddles, just like me...

No need to hide from me! I am so happy that Pasteil has gone to such a great, happy loving home when he can be as spoilt as he deserves!

Thank you for taking such good care of him! I just hope I get visiting rights when I make it over to Perth again!! :D

Gorgeous pics By The Way!!!
