Featured Replies

Hi i have just brought some breeding boxes and was wondering if i need to clean them.

They have been used before.

I brought them at a garage sale and was wondering if i need to clean them and

What do i use?

I have sanded them back and was going to paint them is this a good idea?

i have some house paint that cleans up in water but i can't see on the tin if it is

non toxic and the paint store here can't seem to help i was looking for some advice

please help me.

Thanks Ram

I would scrub them inside and out with an old toothbrush to get in all the corners with a mild bleach solution and let air dry in the sun for a few days. I would not paint them.

:ausb: For sure, clean those boxes out! :greenb:

You can buy an avian disinfectant from your local petshop, whihc is good for cleaning.

I would clean them as well but wouldn't paint. My hens while in the box will nibble and chew at the walls.
