Posted January 29, 200718 yr For some reason Andromeda starts singing like crazy whenever we turn the water on? Does anyone else's budgie baby do this? She also starts singing whenever the heater turns on. Is there a reason?
January 29, 200718 yr Budgies equate the sound of running water to rainfall and relief from a drought. It is when they are happiest.....rainfall or the sound of running water makes them want to breed again. Heater, I am not too sure about....might just be "comfort" to the budgie.
January 29, 200718 yr the budgie may sing because the noise may act as a "white noise" so the budgie is not frightend of anything that may make a little noise like a light switch or somethine... Sco-tie
January 29, 200718 yr Same as the vacuum mine have a ball when I clean up hehe. Thanks guys. I don't think Andromeda likes the vacuum. She tends to freak out in her cage if we come too close with it. She is calling me now. "Mom? Mom! I'm up. Can I get up now?" It's going on to 10 AM here, time for her to wake up.
January 30, 200718 yr Our Pippin used to love the sound of washing dishes. He would go crazy as soon as he heard you fill the sink, and especially loved it when you washed cutlery. In fact, he loved the cutlery so much, he would throw spoons and knives back on the floor as soon as you put them in the dishrack so you'd have to wash them all over again! ;-)

I don't know that I would let Andromeda near the cutlery... *pictures poor birdie impaling herself*
