Posted January 24, 200718 yr well here are the photos and hopefully a video if I can work it.So happy that all three babies are eating and they are all eating at the same time now.Except the smaller one has a few more feeds than the older two. Here they are in the nesting box which I feed them in now as they seem to like this better. Here is the video of sonrisa taking her first food from the spoon. This was 11:30pm last night and hubby was woken up with the good news.(Laughing out loud) http://s137.photobucket.com/albums/q239/wpr72/sonrisaandco/ Video is a bit dark sorry about that. I hope this link works, first time I have done it. Will keep you updated. :feedbirds: Edited February 12, 200718 yr by FGM
January 24, 200718 yr They are gorgeous! The smallest looks like an ino? Be careful! If they look any cuter I might have to come over and birdnap them! :(Laughing out loud):
January 26, 200718 yr Author Everything is going well and they are all feeding well but they are really messy eaters. The smallest one is easy to clean as it has no feathers yet but the other two get food on them and then its hard to get off.Would it be okay to give them a bath in luke warm water or do you guys have any suggestions.Thank you for your support.
January 26, 200718 yr Author Thanks Karen I am going to have to do that today as these photos show how messy they are! Sonrisa is the worst because she flicks everywhere, even all over the other twos heads. They were so cute this morning as they now associate me with food and when they see my face thay put there little baby wings out and beg for food. Here is pie with full crop."oh mum not when I'm dirty!" Here is JJ with full crop and dribble on beak.(Laughing out loud) Another lutino,JJ is just opening its eyes. Lets snuggle for siesta after breakfast! "mum,we are still dirty!what will people think?" If we hide under here maybe the camera will disappear. okay Pie I"ve had enough I'm going back home. Wait for me! Any ideas on sex/mutation etc. Edited January 26, 200718 yr by FGM
January 27, 200718 yr Oh, they are super cute, especially the last couple of pics. Sonrisa is starting to look like she may be a little girl, no idea on the others yet. Â Feathers. Edited January 27, 200718 yr by feathers
January 27, 200718 yr Great pictures and they all look great. I'm glad the feeding is going so well. Â Sonrisa and Pie are Opalines, pie is skyblue while Sonrisa is cobalt and look to be a girl. With the white flight feathers on Pie means pied as well. Â JJ is too soon to tell, Albino maybe (since the other two are blue)
January 27, 200718 yr Author The small one JJ is from a different mum,her mum is lutino and dad is split for lutino thats what makes me say lutino. Both the mum's were fighting that's why I had to take them away. They don't seem to care that they are not related and sonrisa feeds JJ.I don't think I will be able to let these three go far from me,I am so in love.
January 27, 200718 yr Amazing !! You are doing a magnificent job ....it's wonderful to see. Look forward to the ongoing journey of these little guys
January 27, 200718 yr Ahh I didn't realise JJ was from a different clutch (or else I simply forgot which is most likely with me;) ) Yes I would agree with Lutino given those facts.
January 29, 200718 yr Author New photo's of them.JJ is showing little yellow pin feathers coming through. Sonrisa and Pie are growing well and Sonrisa looks like she is going to try and fledge soon, everytime I go to check on them at feed time she has her head sticking out of the box. Will try and get photo today. Here are all three in box. Sonrisa is enjoying the millet spray I have put in the box.Pie has achew aswell sometimes. Â
January 30, 200718 yr Author Sonrisa has been coming out of the nesting box for most of the day now and chewing on millet and some seed, also dipping her beak in the water. Pie also came out today but is less confident and will quickly jump back in the nesting box.All are growing well still and loving the food.Sonrisa is very affectionate and loves her cuddles before bed time,or maybe its just me that loves the cuddles.(Laughing out loud)
January 30, 200718 yr Too cute. They are so georgous. You are doing a fantastic job! Love the opalines.
February 1, 200718 yr Author Here are some photos of Sonrisa looking out of the nest box.She actually came out and did an entire lap of the cage and then went back in. Here is Poppy investigateing the threesome getting fed. Don't think I like the look of that spoon! So Poppy decided he would go see Chippy for some love and grooming!! Sonrisa and Pie sitting pretty on branch in their cage.Look at us Mum we're big birds now! Here is JJ with his cute yellow lutino feathers growing longer and longer every day. Just put the camera down and feed me mum!!! Sonrisa feeds both he smaller babies so I was thinking she may be a good foster mum when she is older. She even chased Poppy and Chippy out of her cage this afternoon with lots of grumpy budgie sounds and biting. It was so cute because when we come near she will just jump on your hand and cuddle for scratches.
