That is called tetragametic chimerism. It is when two embryos fuse together early on in the egg. The two different colours actually have different DNA. :budgiedance:

in simple terms, it's called a doublesiders. as Sailorwolf mentioned it, it has different DNA sets

Interesting bird, and WOW, that is a lot of breeding cages.

WOW thanks you so much for sharing pictures of your bird! I have hunted high and wide for a good picture such as theses of a half sider since I first read about them.

 

You also have a great looking set up. Have you plans to breed this one later to get more or are you not really looking for the unusual types?

 

Also can you show us pictures of her mum and dad?
