January 15, 200718 yr ...and if you have a budgie with a silver ring....the colour has worn off !! Like I have....maybe that budgie is in retirement. Better find the magnifying glass.
January 18, 200718 yr It's so good to know this, now I won't have to spent 5 - 10 minutes trying to see the year on the ring I can just look at the colour. Hurrah! Of course I will still have to check with older birds. Carri

July 19, 201113 yr Its purple called magenta by most. Next rings are gold and are distributed to be used Sept 1st Edited July 19, 201113 yr by **KAZ**
July 20, 201113 yr Do rings have the month of birth on them NO. The rings are distributed yearly so they have a symbol and a year on it. Like X8 or -8 that shows a 2008 bird. This symbol and number goes vertically up the ring while all other numbers and letters go around the ring. It would be too hard to get the month on the rings too. Breeders should keep records and be able to tell a purchaser which date that particular bird hatched. Edited July 20, 201113 yr by **KAZ**

April 15, 201312 yr hallo im eloise, i have 2 birds, one has no band and the other i bought with a gold band..... i bought her in the adult section.... i dont know if shes 20 months or if shes 6 years? if so i need to get another budgie to breed with! im really hoping she is 1.8 years so i dont have to get another, but shes really mean and attacks my other budgie. so it might be a blessing in a disguise
April 15, 201312 yr hey sounds like they don't like each other elle. You should put some pictures up in your own thread Then we can suggest which one to breed with.

Can you read the year on the ring? It should be printed sideways, with a symbol, and the numbers 12.
