Posted January 11, 200718 yr I have had tyler almost a year now. and I know he is about 2 years of age. From the moment I have gotten him his cere has not changed at all... It looks like its starting to go blue. but never actually does. Im wondering if this is normal or if it is something I should be concerned with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is not the best picture. I will try and get some more tomorrow. His mutation is Double factor Dominant Pied if that helps. I dont know his parents though... He was a store bought bird. Thanks in advance. Desi.

Thanks in advance. Desi. A lot of double factor dominant pied males keep their pink cere. I have one just like yours. All is well with your boy. He is very handsome. January 11, 200718 yr Awesome... thanks bubbles. He is just coming through a moult so he is getting all handsome again... Hehehe. Your boy is gorgeus! okay... I can stop stressing now. It threw me because he has a few blue spots on his pink cere thats all. So how will I know when Tyler is actually in breeding condition? I would love to breed him. and he seems to have taken a liking to Cadbury my Cobalt/Violet Recessive pied. What would I get from them? Thanks again bubbles. Desi Edited January 11, 200718 yr by Desi
January 11, 200718 yr Hi Desi... Tyler is gorgeous!! I have a dom pied and a double factor dom pied that has that problem.. only a little bit of blue shows through. actually my double factor dom pied has pink cere. with babies, you will get all dom pied split to recessive babies. colours varies from cobalt to mauve, and also violets. I'm assuming that tyler is a cobalt. If he's skyblue, you will get skyblue babies as well. Cheers
January 11, 200718 yr Hi Desi! There is nothing to be worried about as it is normal for dominant pieds to have blue cere, fleshy pink or a mixture of both in cocks, and brown cere in hens. This one is mine (he is also in my signature) and his is blue:
January 12, 200718 yr I guess their cere is pied too :hap: so funny I think Tyler is a very handsome boy.
January 12, 200718 yr I used to have 2 DF dominant pieds. One had a blue cere, the other pink. The one with the pink cere did get a mottled look when he was very hormonal and wanted to breed.
