January 19, 200718 yr Author Beeper is still so white! Poor little Pintpot. Yes...mostly white on Beeper, but feathers on its back are coming through dark blue, possibly violet. Edited January 19, 200718 yr by Bubbles
January 20, 200718 yr Grif and all the other names I put before it: Tucker, Caboose, Church, Simmons, Sarge and Tex all come from an internet machinema series called Red vs Blue. Donut is the name of the guy in pink armour.
January 20, 200718 yr Author I love Golly! I might just hop on a plane & nick her! Golly flew a little in the nursery cage today. I put the fledged babies in a nursery cage for the day together, so there was 5 of mistys babies, and Golly, Liah and Donut, Divinity (YF violet) and (YF violet) sister Gem, and a little tiny creamino boy, Mini-me. January 20, 200718 yr Karen since Golly flew she has potential to fly right to your house instead of you flying to her . I have been working on Bubbles to strengthen up the budgie lines flying abilities so they can make it over seas too

January 22, 200718 yr Author Goliath and Candy's babies have all fledged except for the 5th baby in Sadie's nestbox. Last one to leave Candy and Goliaths box was Vinnie. I could not believe how big he is !! I am kicking myself for not having put legrings on this batch as Vinnie is a big, big boy with long mask (cheek feathers ) and so, so violet. He may have done well as a show budgie but no legring. I think I, as a novice can show birds with no legrings for 12 months though so I will find out. Here is Vinnie Here is Beeper from Sadie's nestbox ( also Goliath and Candy's baby )..try and figure him / her out. The only wing markings are a sprinkling of soft grey on the shoulder blade area like a soft grey spangle pattern. He/she is mostly white and has skyblue coming through on tummy and back.
January 22, 200718 yr beautifull little babies, i love all the pics well done.. be interesting to see litle beeper when his feathers are all out
January 22, 200718 yr I am kicking myself for not having put legrings on this batch  Oh, Karen, what a shame. Will you think about taking this one down for the next meeting as an unbroken cap?

January 22, 200718 yr Do you weigh your babies Karen? I'd be really interested to know how their weight has fluctuated over the weeks & for a couple weeks after fledging.
January 22, 200718 yr Author Do you weigh your babies Karen? I'd be really interested to know how their weight has fluctuated over the weeks & for a couple weeks after fledging. No, I dont weigh them. I have a hard enough time keeping them still enough for a photo :ausb: I check them though from fledging to flight and beyond making sure they are eating, keel bones dont stick out, no pooey bottoms etc. I test bodyweight by feel and memory. Vinnie is humungous !! and I thought Golly was big. Vinnie is like a fast moving beetle scuttling away so fast I cant catch him or take a decent photo. :hap: Edited January 22, 200718 yr by Bubbles
January 22, 200718 yr Maybe I'll pinch both Golly & Vinnie when I win Lotto & hop on a plane! I can hardly wait until my aviary quarantine is over & the psittacosis danger has passed! I desperately want some baby budgies!!
January 24, 200718 yr Author Here is some of the latest fledged photos Liah Donut (left) and Golly (right) other photos as I can get them of Beeper and Vinnie Edited January 24, 200718 yr by Bubbles
