Posted January 1, 200718 yr My budgie laid 7 eggs starting on the 1st of december. A friend on another forum said that since none had hatched and she was acting like hse was going to lay again it would be a good idea to remove the eggs. But when i went to remove the eggs i felt some movement. So i put them back. Does the movement mean this egg is fertile? And was my friend wrong, is it too soon to remove them? thanks...
January 1, 200718 yr Yes It would be too soon to remove them. It can take up to any time between 18-25 days for an egg to hatch and you should wait a week after the 25 day mark before you throw it away. Your most recent agg would probably only be 16 days old and it wouldn't be due to hatch yet. You should probably wait another 3 weeks before throwing them out.
