Well I have no idea what is wrong, but gee he's beautful

Has he been seen by a avian vet yet? That would be my direction to make sure he does not have a viral or bacterial infection causing him to loose his flights.

He looks like he is missing all his tailfeathers also. Any chance he is being plucked/picked on by other birds?

:ausb: Or a congenital abnormality? :(

It could be french moult. Or it could be due to dehydration. Most likely it is French moult. You should get your babies checked out by a vet. French moult isn't usually fatal in budgies. The baby will regrow its flight feathers however usually they are deformed and the baby can't fly. This isn't so bad. I have a budgie that I believe had French moult as a chick. She can't fly, but she has lead a perfectly good life. They are known as runners and really benefit and love exercise wheels. My runner loves her exercise wheel.

I have 2 budgies that look exactly like that they can't fly they had pulpitis when they were chicks (which I believe is also known as french molt) so I would have to agree with sailorwolf.

I am no expert though but I just wanted to say they look exactly the same.

my 2 are perfectly happy they are the best of friends :) and cute as anything :)

Did you find out why the baby is like this? I see you have the precious one for sale :)

yes this one has Pulpits so his feathers may or may not grow back, he has a great home and is all ready a chatter box.

thanks,

Sco-tie

:bluebudgie: So glad he found a suitable home and is happy. :ausb:
