Fluffys Health And Genetics

Featured Replies

Thanks Bubbles.

Fluffy was hatched on the 24th September. Today is the 24th November. He is 61 days old. Looking at him he resembles an old man (budgie) he is living more and more with his head in the seed tray or the the tray of high protien. I make a dish especially for him. He is in the nursary with 5 others. His sister is in the flight but his other sister is with him and will stay with him until the end.

I would like to put up some photos but am reluctant due to past experiences.

I wanna see what he's looking like. ;)

;) Maybe it is just as well Bea, we can remember him from his last photo knowing that the feather situation is getting worse and the most important thing is that Daz is taking good care of him. Bittersweet I know. :P

Daz I am glad he is with his sister and she is "rock" so to speak (I know it is human emotion). I am sure this is not easy for you either as in 4 days 60 days, 5 years when you care about someone (human or animal) you become to love this little being. Thank you for sharing him with us and just keep us updated on him even if you don't feel comfortable in pics.

ps. we wouldn't want to have his last days our freak show - you rock Fluffy!! :D

Those a wonderful photos!!!!He is such a beautiful bird and even though he is a feather duster his colours are so vibrant must be all that tender, loving care that you are giving him. Thanks for the pics Daz.

Does his sister have the same colours?

 Poor Fluffy, his feathers are very beautiful and we know he is getting his proper nutrition plus plus. It's almost like progeria in humans where poor little kids look like senior citizens before their 6th birthday. :)

:( Oh those photos made me cry.. he looks beautiful and well loved but its also sad to know that hes not a well little man.. Thanks heaps for the photo updates Daz, you are doing such a wonderful job with him :angel1: He looks like an angel :)

I can't help but think he's a real cutie. It's such a shame he won't have a full long life like his brothers and sisters. At least he's well loved and will be properly cared for till the end. :(

Oh, those photos are beautiful. It makes me sad to know that he is not going to be with us for very long. But I am so very glad that he is being loved and cared for. Thank you for sharing, Daz.

Do you think he is aggressive because that is his nature or because it is an aspect of the defective genes? I have never seen a feather duster in person, and to be quite honest, have never read up much on them.

a trait of feather dusters is that normally they are very aggressive

Bless his little heart Daz. Beautiful pictures and he is enjoying the sunshine like no other budgie can. He is handsome! Thank you Daz and the misses for posting.

Daz thanks for posting those photos , they also made me have a tear , even thou he has that condition he is still a beauty and he looks so majestic in those pics , l'm so glad that even in his short life he is living well in your tender care .

Sorry to hear that Daz, That picture suit so well, it looks as if he looked in the distance saw his future and took off.

:( sweet Fluffy.
