What Would These Colurs Create?

Hey guys,

So if i do get the yellow face blue dominant spangle pied male (split to opaline i think as his sister is an opaline yellow face spangle pied aswell)...what would i get if he was bred to:

-a white recessive pied female such as this . . .

http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/v_recessivepied2.jpg

-a dominant blue pied female such as this . . .

http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/v_dominantpied1.jpg

-Or a blue opaline female such as this . . .

http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/v_opaline1.jpg

Thanks guys!!!

Kirbs :)

I'm not going to write exactly what you will get as it will take up too many lines!!

But the opaline would prob get you more what you will be looking for colour-wise, if you cross with the Dom pied and you got Double Factors would you get the other colours come through as well?

Me personally wouldn't bother with the recessive pied cross but that is just me - it may produce some nice birds too depending on what other mutations the rec pied has.

So have you got the birds yet?? :hap:

Oi! Go study some genetics!!! (Laughing out loud). Stop giving us headaches and figure it out yourself. He he. Will keep you busy. (Laughing out loud) :P

Thanks guys...

I want more dominat spangle pied babies so im thikning of what to breed him to. I think im going to get a dominant [ied female...so i can get:

-yellow face blue normals

-white face blue normals

-blue spangles (yellow and white faces)

-dominant pied blues (also yellowfaces)

-double factor dominant pieds

-dominant spangle pieds (yellow and white faces)

Am i missing any?

And the reason im asking is to see other peoples opinions, as im not good at genetics..well i am, but i like when others help me out as sometimes forget 1 or more possible outcomes...

Kirbs :P

Kirbs :)

:) That is in English.. ;)

eg. in the first pairing 6.25% of the chicks should be male and will be Yellowface type I Blue, Split Opaline, Split Recessive Pied

I haven't allowed for dark factors or unknown genes ;)

those percentages will be over the breeding life of the birds and not per clutch and daz no i don't have the patients i must admit it always suprises me why people will want to know what colours they will get when i first started up and realized that you could get different colours in clutchs the waiting and suprise where part of the fun its different now that i am showing

I got to agree with you there Hath. I just like to see healthy strong chicks.

just a thought Kirby, why don't you get the female and pair it with your violet spangle male. I bet you'd get pretty babies that way.

You won't need to get a Dom Pied female as the male is already Dom Pied.

Although I just crossed a Dom pied male wit a green normal/pos Dom Pied female (now I know she isn't!!) and got NO Pied babies!
