Cleaning Wooden Playgym

Featured Replies

Posted

My playgym is dyed wood and if you get it wet the colour comes off. The bottom is easy enough to clean, just take off the gym part and wipe it clean but not the perches and ladder and stuff. I know a few more people have the same sort of gym (Penn Plax) so how do you clean it?

For those who don't know the type i'm talking about here it is:

Hi Bea you do have the same one as me.

I use a scouring pad. on mine which is dipped in some disinfectant. Not to wet though. :)

Is a scouring pad like those metal scoury thingos you wash dishes with?

You can also use sandpaper. :) Some of it will scrape off, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Just more of a varied texture for their little feets.

Well yes ut the ones I use are plastic. Like a hard sponge. Scotch Brite brings them out. I'll see if I can find a link.

The Metal ones dig into the paint, so I wouldn't use them.

I have the same problem as you Bea. I remember posting about it way back. But what I do is I wet the gym but I don't wipe it as I find this is what takes the colour off. Just leave it to dry in the sun. And only attack it with water in the areas where there is poop stain on it.

Otherwise wipe it over with a dry cloth or chamois, to get that dust off.
