Posted July 25, 200618 yr Is it safe to grow sweet peas up against the mesh walls of an aviary. Huuby suggested doing this to give them protection and something to play with. Cindy
July 25, 200618 yr I would say they are okay - all other peas are fine, so these should be too. Don't know how well they would grow though - little beaks would be constantly 'pruning' them :ausb:
July 25, 200618 yr Author Thanks. I don't mind them pruning, they have done it to most of my native plants. I just put them back outside until they start growing again. The plants i mean, not the birds :ausb: Cindy
July 25, 200618 yr I'm not sure about the flowering sweet peas but the normal sugar snap peas would be alright. I should look into the flowering sweet peas. I would imagine it would be okay. but I should look anyway.

Still too busy finding all the nooks and crannies in their new home. Cindy
July 29, 200618 yr I think Sweet peas might actually be poisonous. Because we definately can't eat them.
