I didn't record it at high speed - Roger actually does run in his wheel that fast! Sometimes he runs so fast he falls out!

Is a hamster like a guinea pig? The wheel is a basic mouse wheel. Roger is only the 2nd house budgie who has used it for anything other than sleeping in!

I was just trying to find different ways of keeping them entertained. The aviary birds have 2 larger versions - most of the time they use it as a bed.

I bred him from a dominant pied male I bought at the Margate bird show, to a lutino hen. It was too quiet inside without a budgie for company.

Embarrasing news. Roger has entered puberty. He has taken to humping: 1st his green cuddle mate (which I removed last week) and for the past couple of days he has been humping his pink calcium bell (seen in video).

So funny. My budgies like their hamster wheel but I've never seen them run that fast! Cute!

that has got to be the funniest thing i have seen for a while!! I had mice when i was kid that culd run fast enough to power a light globe (school science project!), but i would never have imagined a budgie could run that fast!
