Posted July 8, 200618 yr I've got one silly question . Could you see your budgies eat some fly or something flying around in their cage? I could see a wasp flying to my budgie cage today and I was worried a bit, that it could sting them. But some of the budgies were actually hunting it Do you think they could just eat the wasp?
July 9, 200618 yr In the wild birds eat insects that are crawling on the food they eat. It's a great form of protein for them.
July 9, 200618 yr :ausb: I saw one of my budgies grab a mosquito once but that was about 5 or 6 years ago, haven't observed any fly or moth or mosquito catching since. :bluebudgie:
July 9, 200618 yr I went into a really good petshop and they had little crickets that they put in the babie budgie gym, for them to eat, I suppose.
July 9, 200618 yr Author okay, so maybe they can eat the wasps (there are many here now - I think they were born somewhere around the house now :ausb: ). I actually bought an egg food which suppose to have some insect in it - but I didn't find any :bluebudgie:
July 11, 200618 yr I don't know about eating the wasps, because the wasps will sting your budgies and that could be very dangerous for a small animal like a budgie.
