i've heard of two males feeding and grooming each other, but would one ever try to mount the other.

I can answer that yes (Laughing out loud) and trust me the other one kicks him off...Pretty tries to do this to Merlin (especially when they first met)

okay, thanks. i was going to try and use that as a sort of way of telling if she/he was male or female, i bought him/her when she was 8 months and she was in condition and her cere was very brown but over the past year she/he has not been in and she/he has been acting alot like a male and cere is pretty blue. i think i will just wait and see to tell. thanks

thats means its a female out of condition like shes not breeding condition and it get whitish blue

okay, thanks. i wasnt sure as she is acting quite strange, i think she will be coming in to season soon. thanks for the help.

i been keeping an eye on it over the past few days and it is definitely turning brown, i think it was a case that she was just out of condition. Hopefully her and my other male will soon be having chicks, thanks for the help
