Posted June 17, 200619 yr I got this guy at Pet City. He is a nice and big boy. I got the following 2 from Prestige Pets. This boy is a nice size: This girl is a runt & way smaller than I usually like but she is a Violet Recessive Pied & I just couldn't leave without her:

June 17, 200619 yr Three lovely birds. I love the colour of the second male! And the violet recessive is beautiful. Looks a lot like my male Tazzy. Is she cinammon too? Nice additions to your flock!
June 17, 200619 yr beautiful birds is that a patch of blue on her neck? Because she may be a double dominant factor instead of a recessive. Just wondering.
June 18, 200619 yr Author The first guy I have named Monster (aka Shrek) as he really is a messy beast! The pied hasn't gone thru her first moult yet so I will have to wait and see but sofar she is looking like a traditional recessive.

June 21, 200619 yr Author I'll check on the weekend for any rings - didn't think to look when I got him.
June 24, 200619 yr Author Well I checked today whilst moving him to a larger quarantine cage & he doesn't have any rings at all. He has a case of diahorrea at the moment so I'm giving him some antibiotics hopefully it will help him. A young fellow at Pet City told me that they usually remove the leg ring unless the buyer wants them left on.
June 24, 200619 yr I hope he gets better. The best person to talk to is Renee. She is co incharge of the birds. Most of what they display as "Show budgies" have rings on. They may have change their policys. I haven't been there for some time now. I do know the birds are treated well.
