Posted June 10, 200618 yr Can i put two budgies in this cage? Right now i have 1 but i was wondering if 2 can live in it? They will be outside of the cage a lot. Thanks http://www.hagen.com/canada/english/birds/...=08829350010101 Dimensions are: 19'' 1/2 high, 17'' long and 15'' wide It is too small isnt it?
June 10, 200618 yr Yes it is only suitable for 1 budgie, I had the same cage. If you want two I would go the biggest you can afford. I know Kirby bought the same cage as I did it was 109 US and an excellent deal. My two love it, they can fly around, and I initiate them to play on the bottom with toys. Also if you ever thought of getting more the cage could hold up to 4 budgie comfortably maybe 6. Though I can't imagine anymore as I am used to the size of the cage now and they look perfect in it. If you can't go that expensive here is another place http://demsondpetdepot.com/Merchant2/merch...tegory_Code=BAC not sure if they sell to Canada but it gives you a good idea of a cheaper type of cage that is a good size too. Personally, I would wait for the 2nd budgie until I could buy the bigger cage it is much more fair to your budgies . Even if they are out alot like my 2, they still need to be able to exercise and fly in their cage if all possible. This is just my opinion.
June 11, 200618 yr I found a Breeding cage like the ones you showed me (30X18X18), fro $55 Canadian dollars including shipping. I like it better because the feeders are outside and clear plastic. Although it is twice as much as the ones you showed there. I convinced my dad to buy anther budgie, now im working on convincing for another cage. I guess i'll have to wait for my birthday or something and get somethign more expensive like this :bluebudgie:... (480 cage) http://www.birdandcage.com/flight.html#480 I'm just wondering, how do u wash a cage that big? http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/68/68159...lk_backgrnd.jpg Edited June 11, 200618 yr by Mavi_Kus
June 12, 200618 yr i would disagree, it depends how long your budgies are allowed outside the cage mine is a similar sized to yours and my too happily live in it with plenty of time outside the cage. they have not had as much time outside the cage at the moment because i have had my window open because it has been so hot. ATD
June 12, 200618 yr It is very simple, they poop down (Laughing out loud) so everyother day I change the newspaper and then with a paper towel damped I wipe off the poop which comes off easy. And then use a bird safe cleaner once a week on the bottom grate and the tray.
June 13, 200618 yr I have that huge white cage and let me tell you its dead easy to clean - easier than my other cages - I would definitely recommend it for sure. Your current cage is definitely way to small for 2 budgies even on a temporary basis.
June 13, 200618 yr Not it isnt to small for to even on temporary basis! I had two in mine!!! Its fine, and works out great for them! Honestly, 3 is not good, for temporary basis, 2 is fine! Plus we all know you let them have tons of time out to play e.t.c.!!! I had two in that cage for about a year, until i made a bigger cage, and started breeding them! Other than that, i have same cage as Boom is talking about too. GREAT!!! Easy to clean, nice and big, comes with stand, perches, food cups, breeding box holes...and is on wheel/stand! Great cage for up to 6! I have 6 in mine now They never fight, get lots of time out e.t.c. You can see the new pics of my cage in my thread "New Pics! Of my lil flock"...in photo thread. Its blueish/greenish and has only 4 in it now, other 2 are in home made breeding box Best of luck! Kirby
