Hello, I really need helpful hints for planning my next breeding. Although it will be at least a year away before my new 8 week old hen chick will be ready to breed (so a breeder has told me) I want to help bond her to her future mate and keep them together away from the aviary. My first and only breeding between a 3yr old hen and 4yr old cock was successful with 5 healthy beautiful chicks. Now I need advice on colours. I have tried to understand genetic charts of what to expect but it’s so complicated that I am turning to this forum. My question is, (from left) Snow, my new (looks yellow blush on face) pied hen; Casper, my 3 year old blue spangled cock, and Midge, my 2 year old yellow pied cock (centre front) - Which of the two cocks would have the most interesting colour chicks? ‘Thank you for your help it’s much appreciated.
