I was snapping some photos of Newton and Napoleon for their breeding journal (all updated in the breeding journal section!), so I got some of Sydney, Chiyo and my other budgie too. He/she is unnamed right now. I want to figure out the gender first and be certain of it. Chiyo. So quiet and so gentle! Unnamed budgie! Unnamed budgie and Sydney!

FUN! It's my day off from work and I have absolutely nothing to do. So YAY. Thank you Elly! I'll do the best I can, but my genetics class is kind of far behind me. That was a failure. F for Steph. haha. Well, now it's time to spend my night off by brushing up on budgie genetics. My human genetics course was easier! Mainly because I have a hard time chewing on all the different color varieties and things.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad. I wasn't too excited about the idea of having to clean it. It's just very light smudges, probably only noticeable because I'm pretty paranoid about the little eggs! So I won't be touching them! Thanks again!

Newton has laid her 3rd egg. But I noticed that one of the eggs seems soiled. Probably smudges of poop. It's not that bad, but I was wondering, should I clean it? And if yes, how? I'm so nervous to even touch the eggs. They're just so tiny and I don't want them to break. Any tips are appreciated!

Thanks. I'm going to continue to browse, but I really do like the looks of it. It seemed huge to me and it's hard to find anything at a decent price in petstores.

Dimensions are: 39" X 23.5" X 69" I'm surprised by some of the replies. I actually thought it was fairly big and wide and all that jazz. I have enough room to fit something much wider but it seems almost impossible to find something wider... at least in my area. Also Splat... hehe, nope I'm not that handy... at all hehe.

I will definitely give updates Yeah I won't be disturbing her too much, but she's pretty tame and doesn't feel at all threatened by me. But either way, I try not to disturb her too much in anyway. I'm so excited!!!

Should I put any shavings or newspaper or... anything in the nestbox? I want my birds to be as comfortable as possible. Is a wooden nestbox better? Dilemmaaa

To me Napoleon is a beautiful bird, but I'm beginning to wonder about his appeal to the female birds. He's sort of got a thing going with Sydney... but she's just not ready to take the next step (if you know what I mean). So Napoleon, knowing it's time for spring (and babies) has tried to approach Sydney and Newton. Needless to say, he's been rejected twice. Pretty harshly. Is he just never going to get the... ladies? I WAS WRONG he's hot stuff Napoleon and Newton just went at it like monkeys FINALLY. I'm so excited. This is fantastic. After a year of failed attemps. Napoleon has gotten some booty.
